Decentralisation

The information technology infrastructure has a strongly decentralised character. In this way the IT services are brought economically and in a user-oriented way to the factory and departments.

High-speed network

A fiber optic network serves as a high-speed communication netqwork across the whole site. This works network consists of further local networks in factories and departments.

Process control and modelling

Production in the factories are supervised and controlled by 35 process computers. Model calculations automatically support production at optimal costs and security. Competent use and evaluation of the data ensures that the basic conditions necessary for the process cycles are fulfilled at any time on qualitatively high level.

For a close-to-reality allocation of the costs of the respective products the collection of the data of the production process is crucial for the IT. For each steel grade, the time, quantity and other cost-relevant data are captured.

Standards

The commercial departments, Personnel and the technical enterprises use the standard software SAP. On all computer platforms international standards are used such as UNIX and relational database technology, which the different business processes of the HKM economically support.
