Preamble

With their establishment at the location Duisburg Huckingen, Hüttenwerke Krupp Mannesmann developed a model, which considerably promoted the successful development of the enterprise. The messages of the model offered both orientation and challenges at the same time for management, employees, customers, suppliers and other partners. HKM further developed this demanding model. It should set yardsticks for goals and co-operation, which makes further successes in the future possible and which strengthens the feeling of "us". We all are equally requested as management and employees to live the values of the HKM model.

HKM is a competent producer of input materials for pipes and flat steel products. With a fastidious and innovative product range of made to requirements steel grades our enterprise is a recognized and sort-after problem solver for its customers. By concentrating on the production stages from coke production to continuous casting, special efficiency is made possible for HKM. Plants with high productivity, the constant optimisation of the processes, as well as the rationalisation of logistic operational sequences permits us fast and flexible action as well as great economy.

Herein we see an important contribution to durably securing our lead in relation to our competition. Our success on the basis of competence ensures customer confidence and freedom of action for investment in employees, plant and quality. The protection of the environment and retaining the natural basis of life are substantial components of our managerial policy at HKM.

By taking good care of resources, decreasing emissions and the application of meaningful recycling procedures we ensure that productivity and economy are in agreement with active environmental protection.

By the adherence to regulations HKM is continuously improving its operational environmental protection and reducing its environmental impact by the employment of best and economically justifiable technologies for the well-being of people.

We see environmental protection as an holistic task of the enterprise and within the responsibility of each employee on the job. Therefore HKM promotes the competence and the environmental awareness of its employees by constant further training.

Beyond that we look for an open dialogue with customers, partner enterprises, authorities and the public in order to promote a mutual understanding and to deepen confidence in our actions.
