HKM
We specialize in the input material production of steel with all necessary process steps - from pig iron production, including coking plant and sintering plant up to crude steel production and production of slabs and round steel bars in the continuous casting process.
We manufacture and supply only start materials (slab and round continuous cast) for manufacturing rolled steel products and tubes without exception for our shareholders Thyssen Krupp Steel AG, Salzgitter Mannesmann GmbH und Vallourec Mannesmann Tubes S.A. They produce a lot of different steelproducts out of it.
HKM has experience of many years and comprehensive know-how potential, we have technically and economically optimised both our production steps and our working conditions and environmental protection measures. Today we are a steel enterprise, who is setting new standards within almost all areas, both in production and in environmental protection.
Approximately 3000 employees produced 2.8 millions tons in 2009 - about 9% of the crude steel manufactured in Germany.

The program covers slabs with widths up to 2.1 m for processing to large pipes and external body parts ...
... beyond that we produce round steel bars with diameters from 180 to 406 mm in lengths up to 14.5 m for forging purposes and for the production of smooth pipes for different requirements.

Our steel grades, primarily in high-quality goods with alloy contents up to 5%, fulfill all national and international standards.
Future technologies
The equipment at our works corresponds to the latest state of the art technology. Beyond that we are always mindful to locate our machines, plants and controls in such a way that also future technologies can be carried out optimally.
